Ultrasound Axillary Lymph Node Biopsy
In patients with a newly diagnosed breast cancer it is important to know if cancer has spread to the adjacent lymph nodes under the arm (Axilliary region). When indicated, suspicious axillary lymph nodes can undergo an ultrasound guided needle lymph node biopsy. Our practice introduced this to the community and advocates Axillary Ultrasound Screening of all newly diagnosed breast cancer patients.
